History of Mysore Pak

Mysore, also known as Mysuru, is a historic city located in the southern part of India, in the state of Karnataka. Renowned for its rich cultural heritage, grand palaces, and vibrant festivals, Mysore attracts visitors from all over the world

Legend has it that Mysore Pak originated in the royal kitchens of the Mysore Palace, Karnataka, during the reign of Krishna Raja Wadiyar IV in the 19th century. The story goes that Kakasura Madappa, a palace cook, accidentally stumbled upon the recipe while experimenting with sugar, ghee, and gram flour. Impressed by the delectable creation, the king named it “Mysore Pak” in honor of the city of Mysore.
